Position Title: Technical Coach – DevOps (Salesforce Focus)
Location: Remote
Duration: 5 months to start but very high likelihood of extension and expansion
Rate: $80-$100/hr on W2 Only
Job Summary:
Your role as a Salesforce DevOps Coach will be to mentor and guide teams in implementing and optimizing DevOps practices with a focus on Salesforce and the surrounding toolchain. You’ll help them adopt modern cloud, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD pipelines to deliver continuous value. You’ll leverage your expertise in Salesforce DevOps tools such as Copado and your understanding of Azure and Git to help teams build, test, and release high-quality code efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
DevOps Coaching:
* Mentor teams on Salesforce DevOps practices, focusing on improving CI/CD processes, version control strategies, and release automation using Copado.
* Help teams build secure, scalable, and efficient pipelines for deploying Salesforce code, including configuration of CI/CD pipelines and Git branching strategies.
* Provide technical guidance on Salesforce environments, deployments, and integration points with other systems (Azure, etc.).
Toolset Expectations:
* Guide teams in using Copado for version control, testing, and deployments.
* Assist teams in integrating Salesforce development with tools such as Git and Azure DevOps for version control, collaboration, and automation.
* Help optimize infrastructure as code (IaC) strategies and improve environments using Azure services.
Outcome-Driven Engagements:
* Conduct discovery sessions to understand each team’s unique DevOps challenges and align on their outcomes.
* Co-lead a six-to-16-week coaching engagement, providing custom coaching plans and facilitating team workshops.
* Coach teams on breaking work down into small batches that meet outcomes and create sustainable delivery cadences.
Continuous Improvement & Automation:
* Promote best practices such as continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), and automated testing (e.g., TDD/BDD) for Salesforce and related cloud infrastructure.
* Advise on integrating automated security practices into pipelines, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation across deployments.
Required Technical Skills:
* Strong experience with Salesforce deployment, configuration, and integration.
* Deep expertise with Copado, including setting up and managing Salesforce CI/CD pipelines.
* Experience with Azure DevOps (or equivalent cloud services), including pipelines, infrastructure as code, and monitoring.
* Proficiency with Git for version control, branching strategies, collaboration and Co-pilot.
* Knowledge of scripting technologies like Python, Powershell, or Bash for automation.
* Experience with additional agile engineering practices such as:
* Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
* Monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Grafana)
* Security Practices (Sonarqube, PMD, Veracode)
* Experience with Salesforce integration patterns and API management.
* Experience managing multiple Salesforce environments and sandboxes, including taking backup and restoring backups.
* Experience with integrating test automation suite written using Ginger, Katalon, or Playwright
* Proficiency with Quantum Metric
Bonus Skills (Preferred but not required):
* Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
* Certified Scrum Master or equivalent agile certification.

Minimum Requirements:
* Requires a minimum of 7 years of related or equivalent experience
* Deep knowledge of Copado, Salesforce, Azure, and Git.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to mentor and coach technical engineers and executives alike.
