Rate: $50-$60/hr. on W2 Only

Must Have: Either XCUI or Espresso and mobile testing.

* 5+ years of experience Mobile Development and Testing; this candidate should be able to write scripts to test as well as new feature development in mobile applications.
* 1-3 years of automation experience in developing and testing mobile flows
* Experience with IOS or Android Testing Frameworks
IOS – Swift, XCode, Android – Kotlin, Espresso Framework

* Not looking for candidates with only experience in Appium
* Experience in testing REST APIs and SDK APIs and knowing how the application is developed and built

Job Description

We are looking to bring in an experienced mobile application tester to our team. The candidate will ideally possess a strong technical background with a focus on iOS, tvOS, and Android native app testing.

Responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining test cases in a fast-paced development environment where test builds are distributed regularly. This role will interact closely with the product, development, and operation teams – thus strong communication skills are paramount. In addition, the candidate should be able to effectively analyze data getting sent to and from native applications via web services, as well as be able to capture device logs (effectively analyzing them is a plus)

Core Responsibilities

* Writes and executes tests to validate products and software applications.
* Contributes to the development of Quality Assurance test philosophies and methodologies. Identifies viable test strategies to support testing product functionality.
* Collaborates with product and development teams to identify product and technical requirements.
* Reviews and verifies requirements and design specifications for validity in overall product design, with an emphasis on product testability and verification.
* Ensures proper execution of regression test procedures and automated test suites and scripts. Participates in design, code, and functional product reviews.
* Works with other Quality Assurance Engineers or Software Engineers to identify, reproduce and document bugs or defects.
* Supports trials of new infrastructure designs/services.
* Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
* Build test cases to verify that the client’s mobile entertainment apps meet product requirements and customer needs
* Collaborate with the development team during the early testing cycle to become more familiar with what is being implemented and how, as well as review use cases together
* Work with the automation team to increase automated test coverage to avoid having to run regression scripts repeatedly
* Analyze and help triage defects raised by customers, both internal and external
* Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.

Attributes for Success

* Relevant testing experience on iOS, tvOS, and Android native client applications
* Experience with large-scale consumer-based application testing with millions of daily users
* Intimate familiarity with REST web services – response codes, request types, headers, etc.
* Ability to capture and analyze device/crash logs on both platforms
* Effective bug reporting including prioritization, steps to reproduce, and repeatability
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Multi-tasking – need to be able to handle multiple ongoing releases across more than one platform at any given time
* Deep understanding of differences in platform behaviors, OS versions, and device type considerations during testing

Education

Bachelor’s Degree, or (at least 4 years of professional experience).
