SQL Server Database Developer (No H1b)

Job Description

Position: SQL Server Database Developer

Location: Plano, TX or Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid 3 days in office and 2 days remote)

Duration: 12 month contract (ext. up to 18 months)

Must haves:

* SQL Server Development (Microsoft SQL Server 2019)

Responsibilities:

* An experienced Microsoft SQL Server 2019 database with experience of performance tuning to take advantage of new functionality offered by SQL 2019, modifying Python scripts used in the build out of the application’s new React based UI
* Implement new client wide development processes, upgrading associated toolset to latest technologies, and ensuring compliance with client policies and standards
* Release management and day to day application support as required and mentoring and guiding more junior members of the team
* Drive changes in working practices to make delivery more efficient

Requirements:

* Understanding of Agile and Lean software development practices and associated tools
* Expert Microsoft SQL server development skills
* Good OO design skills, knowledge of patterns and architectural understanding
* Broad technical understanding
* Appreciation of the importance of the whole project-lifecycle and business delivery
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven global team interaction
* Willingness to learn, adopt and advance team best-practices, procedures and qualitative standards
* Willingness to own issues and chase them through to completion, communicating effectively and in a timely manner, throughout
* JIRA

* Python scripting experience
* React
* C#.net
* Investment banking experience, with front or middle office team experience
* Knowledge of Daily PNL Production process within a Global Markets Finance function
* Appreciation of Risk Awareness (Inc. Operational, Compliance, Business Reputational)
