**Job Description**

A rapidly growing custom ASIC and SoC development company is seeking a **Senior ASIC Design Engineer** to join their team in San Jose. This role is ideal for professionals with stable work history, strong customer-facing experience, and full lifecycle ownership of ASIC/SoC projects—from spec to delivery. Experience in small, fast-paced companies is highly valued. Chiplet and datacenter experience is a strong plus.

**Location:** San Jose, CA – Onsite
**Type:** Full-Time

**Responsibilities****:**

– Lead ASIC/SoC architecture and micro-architecture development from concept through production
– Collaborate directly with customers to refine requirements and ensure successful delivery
– Drive design reviews, documentation, verification support, and cross-functional technical alignment
– Provide technical leadership in security, debug, and RAS features in ARM-based systems

**Required Expertise:**

**Security****:**

– Strong understanding of SoC security in ARM systems: hardware Root-of-Trust, Secure Boot, TrustZone, MMU/MPU, cryptographic engines, secure debug, TRNG, OTP/fuses, tamper detection

**Debug****:**

– Experience with ARM CoreSight architectures: trace components, external interfaces, debug tools
– Secure debug expertise highly preferred

**RAS****:**

– Experience implementing ARM RAS features: error detection, poisoning/reporting, fault injection, interconnect/fabric error management

**Qualifications****:**

– Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (required); Master’s preferred
– Senior-level experience in ASIC/SoC development with full project lifecycle ownership
– Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
– Experience in small, high-intensity engineering environments strongly preferred
– Local candidates preferred
– H1B may be considered if ample time remains on visa
