**Job Description**

*****3-6 month contract to hire. NYC 3 days a week. Final round is on-site. *****

**Summary of job**

– Uptime, Stability, and Capacity Planning. Additionally, having an Operations/Support background earlier in the career would be beneficial
– Clear need for a true SRE profile with deep experience in incident response, reliability, availability, capacity planning, and production ownership, not a DevOps or cloud architect background
– Role requires a strong hands-on focus, roughly 70 percent execution and 30 percent strategy, including being in incidents, writing runbooks, and fixing real production issues
– Stand up and own a real SRE function from scratch in a scaled SaaS environment, focused on reliability, availability, incident response, on call, capacity planning, and production ownership for always on systems.
– Be a senior, hands on SRE who spends most of the time in the writing runbooks, handling incidents, fixing production issues, and improving monitoring, alerting, and automation rather than operating at a purely theoretical or enterprise level.

**What we’re looking for**

– 8+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, systems engineering or software engineering within complex, high-availability environments.
– Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
– Expertise in Kubernetes, container orchestration, and distributed systems.
– Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Go for automation and system optimization.
– Experience building observability capabilities using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog or similar platforms.
– Demonstrated capability in capacity planning, scalability modelling, and system performance analysis.
– Strong background in incident response, structured root-cause analysis, and preventative remediation.

*A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum hourly wage for this position is $75 to $85/hr.*
