**Job Title: Software Engineer II (COBOL / Mainframe)**

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled 
**COBOL Developer II**
 with strong experience in 
**COBOL and mainframe systems**
 to support and enhance critical business applications. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the 
**insurance or financial services domain**
, with exposure to actuarial and accounting concepts.

**Key Responsibilities:**

– Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using 
**COBOL**
 in a mainframe environment
– Work on policy administration systems such as 
**LifePro**
– **Collaborate with business analysts and actuarial teams to understand requirements**
– **Perform code analysis, debugging, testing, and performance optimization**
– **Support production issues and ensure system stabilit**
– **Write and execute SQL queries**
 for data validation and reporting
– Participate in system design discussions and documentation

**Required Qualifications:**

– Strong hands-on experience with 
**COBOL programming**
– **Experience working on mainframe systems**
– **Understanding of actuarial concepts**
– **Knowledge of general accounting principles**
– **Strong analytical and problem-solving skills**
– **Good communication and teamwork abilities**

**Preferred Qualifications:**

– Experience with 
**LifePro**
 or similar policy administration systems
– Working knowledge of 
**SQL**
– **Prior experience in insurance or financial services industry**

**Nice to Have:**

– Exposure to batch processing and job scheduling tools
– Experience in system modernization or legacy transformation projects
