Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to lead the transformation of an on-premise infrastructure into a modern, scalable, and secure Azure-based environment. This is a long-term strategic role requiring a blend of advisory leadership and hands-on expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure-as-code, and enterprise-grade Azure services.

You will play a key role in shaping the future state of the client’s cloud infrastructure, collaborating closely with project managers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of a full-scale migration from on-premises services to Azure.

• Serve as the technical advisor on all things Azure Infrastructure including compute, storage, networking, identity, and security.

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures in Azure as well as planning the migration so that it does not disrupt business as usual.

• Evaluate the current on-prem stack and work with the customer to create roadmaps and migration strategies.

• Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform or Azure Bicep.

• Establish cloud governance, policies, and best practices.

• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and collaborate with teams focused on data strategy, engineering, and analytics.

• Provide technical mentorship and support for cloud engineering teams.

• Stay current on Azure updates, cloud architecture patterns, and emerging best

practices.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

• Prior life Sciences industry experience.

• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture with a strong emphasis on Azure.

• Proven experience with on-prem to Azure migrations in complex enterprise

environments.

• Strong knowledge of Azure IaaS/PaaS, virtual networks, identity and access (Azure

AD), security, monitoring, and cost management.

• Experience with DevOps tools and practices (CI/CD, automation, IaC).

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to operate independently in an advisory and implementation capacity.

• Specific migration experience with Azure SQL and MS SQL Servers

Preferred:

• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator

Associate).

• Background in traditional infrastructure (servers, networks, storage).

• Experience in hybrid environments.

• Familiarity with agile project delivery.

• Experience evaluating and creating MS SQL stored procedures

• Experience in setup and configuration of MS Fabric.

• Integration experience between Fabric and other on-prem and Azure based service

offerings

• Familiarity with capabilities and limitations of Copilot

• Experience with pharmaceutical industry data and organization structures,

specifically within commercial sales.
