Job Description

**About the Role**: New York Military Academy (NYMA) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Business Office and HR Assistant intern. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain practical experience in both business operations and human resources within an educational setting. The intern will assist with a variety of tasks, providing valuable support to the business office and HR departments.

**Key Responsibilities**:

* Assist with day-to-day HR tasks, including employee onboarding, maintaining personnel records, and responding to employee inquiries.
* Support the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.
* Help manage payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with school policies.
* Assist in the administration of employee benefits and support the resolution of benefits-related issues.
* Provide support in the preparation and tracking of budgets, financial reports, and other business office documentation.
* Assist in maintaining and organizing business office records, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.
* Collaborate with the HR and business office teams on special projects and initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency.
* Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.

**Qualifications**:

* Currently pursuing a Master degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
* A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Job Type: Internship

Pay: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
