**Taylor Engineering**
is currently seeking a talented
**Coastal Professional**
ready to take the next step in their career to join our nationally recognized MT-2 floodplain mapping team onsite in
**Jacksonville, Florida**
or
**Tampa, Florida**
. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of technical review work on a nationwide program – analyzing coastal hazards, hydrologic and hydraulic models, and helping ensure the accuracy of floodplain maps that protect communities across the United States.

As a key member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to provide technical leadership on high-impact projects, mentor and support junior staff, and actively contribute to business development initiatives. You’ll collaborate with senior staff on client engagement, proposal development, and play a key role in strengthening our coastal services and presence — helping position Taylor Engineering for future growth while advancing your own leadership skills and professional network.

In this role, you will:
* Lead technical reviews and project work for large-scale coastal and floodplain mapping projects, supporting national and other high-profile clients.
* Evaluate and validate hydrologic, hydraulic, and coastal models submitted for floodplain revisions while serving as a mentor to junior engineers, helping develop our next generation of technical talent.
* Collaborate with senior staff on business development and project pursuits—expanding your influence and visibility in the industry.
* Build strong client relationships and represent Taylor Engineering at stakeholder meetings and industry events.

**Requirements**
A qualified candidate will possess the following:
* B.S. Degree in Coastal, Civil/Environmental Engineering (or related engineering field)
* Experience: 5-10 years of relevant coastal engineering experience
* Registration: EIT registration preferred and ability and desire to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license
* Strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and the drive to help shape the future.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
**Preferred Candidate Characteristics**
* Demonstrated knowledge of basic hydrologic and hydraulic concepts, including open channel hydraulics, and groundwater processes.
* Knowledge and experience with ESRI Arc GIS, especially ArcGIS PRO, as well as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, FLO 2D, SWMM, ICPR, MIKE SHE / 11 / HYDRO, WHAFIS, ADCIRC, CHAMP, BOUSS-2D, CSHORE is preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Energetic, detail-oriented team player.
* Ability to communicate effectively with remote employees and other offices.
