**Position Summary**
The primary role of this position is to create engaging content that reaches wide audiences to elevate the department’s brand, enhance the student-athlete experience, capture the attention of prospective student-athletes, improve fan engagement, promote competitions, and showcase the department’s commitment to building champions. This position is also responsible for brand strategy planning and execution activities.
The position of Coordinator of Brand Management and Social Media will be a full-time, 12-month member of the staff in the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Intercollegiate Athletics Program. The Coordinator of Brand Management and Social Media will report directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations. The Coordinator of Brand Management and Social Media must conduct themselves in such a way as to enhance respect for the University, the program and UWL student-athletes.

**Required Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional experience may be substituted on a year for year basis in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
* 1-3 years of experience in marketing, promotions, and event coordination.
* Professional or personal experience in Adobe Suite, Photoshop, Canva, and Photography or Videography.
* Professional or personal experience using Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and Meta Business Manager/Ads Manager.
* Professional experience with video board operations, graphic and video development.
* 1-3 years’ experience in Social Media and Brand planning and strategy.
* Excellent people skills, as evidenced by the ability to present clear and accurate information to small and large groups.
* Excellent written communication skills. Proficiency in standard office applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.,
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Master’s degree
* At least one year of general athletic program administrative experience.
* At least one year of Professional experience working within a Division III athletics program.
* Experience supervising employees who use video board operations, graphic and video development.
* Professional experience in budget management and reporting experience to help department leadership see the full marketing picture.
* At least one year experience in presenting analytics and data storytelling to individuals with little understanding.

**Description of College / Department / Program / Division / Unit**
The Division of Student Affairs’ role is to enhance and support students learning experience here at UWL. We work closely with faculty, staff, community members, alumni and most importantly, students to provide quality programs and services which promote learning, leadership, involvement, service, and the celebration of diversity. The Division includes several departments: Admissions and Recruitment, Campus Child Center, Counseling and Testing, Student Health Center, Intercollegiate Athletics, Recreational Sports, Residence Life, Student Life, University Centers, and the Vice Chancellor & Dean of Students office. The staff of the Division is truly student-centered and concerned about the holistic development of the student.
The University of Wisconsin – La Crosse is a member of the respected Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and pride ourselves on a successful Division III athletic program with broad-based student participation and a balanced student-athlete philosophy. Our mission is “Building Champions. In Sport. In School. In Life.”. We have twenty-one intercollegiate athletic teams, and have won 76 national titles – the second most in the history of NCAA Division III. On average, we place 13th in the Learfield Director’s Cup. Duties/Responsibilities
**Responsibility Statement** Content/Graphic Creation, Brand Strategy Planning and Execution
**Duties to Support Responsibility**
* Create and manage social media content and graphic strategy for in-game promotions for individual sports and athletic department with the guiding light of elevating the brand of UWL Athletics while increasing attendance at UWL Athletic events.
* Create engaging and timely video content across a variety of platforms – including social media, in-venue video boards and website – capturing, producing, editing, and creating content as applicable.
* Responsible for the conceptualization, design, and production of communication and marketing assets: print, collateral, signage, advertising, photography, graphics, videoboards, website ads, billboards, etc.
* Create graphics for departmental events such as Wall of Fame and the ESSLY student-athlete awards event.
* Responsible for the planning, development, execution, and editing/development of the final product of Fall, Winter, and Spring media day photo/video shoot to capture all intro/hype videos, interviews, highlights, headshots, team shots, and fun action shots.
* Manage department photography capturing quality photos to fulfill all department needs: website, social media, articles, outside media coverage, etc.

* Develop and execute campus outreach plan to raise awareness of, and support for, UWL Athletics among campus constituencies, including faculty and staff.
* Responsible for the development, management, and promotion of UWL Athletics through social channels; developing and executing the social media plan, content and graphics with a significant focus on follower growth and elevating the UWL Athletics overall brand.
* Works closely with all 21 teams to support and manage content needs based on the individual teams current Social Media presence. Providing leadership with specific direction laddering up to the overall branding strategy.
* Works closely with all athletics to support content needs for sport and department-wide initiatives, special events, and athletics programming.
* Maintains proficiency and knowledge in all the latest social media trends of the collegiate athletic industry and best practices.
* Develop a social media performance reporting schedule to capture data insights to tell an all-encompassing story that drives future content and strategy decisions.
* Oversee the brand and ensure all designed materials for the department adhere to established brand guidelines.
* Assist coaches and athletics administrative staff in developing and executing a program to retain engagement with alumni, parents, and friends (including department retirees).
* In coordination with coaches, develop a communication and social media strategy to effectively keep alumni engaged with their program.
