Job Title: Database Engineer (Hybrid O Fallon, MO)

Location: O Fallon, MO (Hybrid: 2-3 days in office)

Job Type: Contract (W2)

Rate: $40-50/hr on W2

Work Authorization: H1B Transfer, OPT, , or U.S. Citizen (Prefer local candidates to Missouri)

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Database Engineer with 8-12 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in database management, SQL scripting, Linux commands, and cloud technologies. This role requires hands-on experience in production support, incident management, and monitoring tools to ensure the smooth operation of our database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, develop, and manage database solutions ensuring high availability and performance.
* Write, optimize, and execute complex SQL queries for data analysis and reporting.
* Perform database administration tasks including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
* Manage Linux-based environments, executing shell scripting for automation.
* Provide production and incident support following ITSM/ITIL processes.
* Utilize monitoring tools like Splunk (or similar) for proactive issue detection and troubleshooting.
* Work with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) for database deployment and management.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize database performance and security.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

* 8-12 years of experience in Database Engineering/Administration (Not exceeding 12 years).
* Strong proficiency in SQL and ability to write complex queries.
* Hands-on experience in Linux commands and shell scripting.
* Knowledge of database backup, recovery, tuning, and optimization techniques.
* Experience with ITSM/ITIL processes for incident and change management.
* Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk or similar.
* Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.

Nice to Have:

* Experience in database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.
* Certifications in AWS, Azure, or ITIL are a plus.
