Due to the firm’s significant growth and the increasing complexity of operations, there is a need to enhance the organization, management, and utilization of data in a more agile, robust, and insightful manner. An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Data Program Lead to join the Business Technology (IT) team at our client. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic team focused on fostering growth, development, and success in their career. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Systems and Data, this role will be pivotal in establishing and strengthening the data governance function.
Key responsibilities for the candidate include spearheading the development of data governance processes, facilitating the integration of new systems and datasets, and implementing procedures to enhance the firm’s data governance and quality standards. As part of our ongoing efforts to optimize data management and reporting, we are in the process of deploying a data warehouse. The chosen candidate will play a vital role in the platform’s implementation, design, project management, and ensuring its smooth operation.
Responsibilities:
* Directing and Program Managing the development of the data infrastructure, including the Data Warehouse and related data management tools.
* Leading the design and implementation of an enterprise data model to consolidate data from all business areas into a single usable master dataset.
* Developing and implementing a data governance framework to enhance data quality and lineage tracking for our client.
* Overseeing all data governance activities to enhance the governance, quality, and value of essential data assets.
* Establishing information governance frameworks, policies, principles, and procedures to formalize data asset ownership across systems.
* Supporting in structuring the data governance organization and defining the roles and responsibilities of team members.
Requirements:
* 10+ years of experience in the financial industry.
* 8-10 years of experience with data management and governance concepts, tools and implementation.
* Experience across the data lifecycle, i.e., management of source data input and data quality, as well as data processing, throughput and reporting/outputs required.
* Experience with private equity, private credit and real assets strongly desired.
* Knowledge of Data Platforms or Data Warehouses (e.g., Azure, Atlas, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.).
* Strong Excel skills (e.g., advanced formulas and functions).
* Effective communicator and team player.
* Advanced MS Excel.
* MS SQL.
* Data Visualization tools: MS PowerBI preferred.
* Azure preferred.
