**Position Summary:** Provide electrical design, technical analysis and /or resolution of electrical engineering problems. Provide technical support to other electrical engineers and designers.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Perform tasks associated with the design and engineering of automated switchgear, control systems for Medium voltage and Low voltage electrical power systems in strict compliance with company engineering processes, quality procedures and design standards
* Prepare technical submittals to include layout drawings, sequence of operations, Bill of Materials, wiring schematics, test procedures to meet customer approvals
* Work with project management on scope of work and timelines for project completion.
* Generate detailed design and drawing documents and parts list for manufacturing
* Write sequence of operation for automated control and transfer systems
* Create electrical schematic and wiring drawings for power and control systems
* Generate new PLC and HMI programs and update existing programs for automated control systems
* Develops and maintains standards for PLC and HMI applications
* Verify equipment design to meet compliance to applicable U.L and NEMA standards
* Develop test procedures and verify that the finished products meet design and performance criteria
* Analyze complex engineering problems and offer effective resolutions
* Lead Factory Witness Test and provide Client Training on SAI switchgear control systems.
* Drive development of new products
* Stay technically acquainted with production methods, cost estimating procedures, new development technologies, materials, electrical components, etc.
* Maintain an excellent working relationship with customers, vendors and other departments within SAI
* Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed
* Occasional weekend and/or evening work
* Occasional travel to jobsites for start-up, commissioning support
* Regular in-person attendance is an essential function of this job

**Education and/or Experience**

* BS or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics and automation, electronics or engineering from an accredited engineering school required
* 3-5 years’ experience working with electrical power distribution systems.

**Knowledge and Skills:**

* Good understanding and application knowledge of power circuit breakers, industrial control devices, engine and generator controls from major manufacturers
* Well versed with PLC and HMI programming software, Modbus, Modbus/TCP and other related control and communications protocols
* Proficient in Electrical Drafting Software (Eplan preferred)
* Quality conscious at every phase of the product from design to delivery
* Self-starter and problem solver with strong written and verbal communications skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Windows based applications; Outlook; Word; Excel; Access

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
