**Job Duties**
The Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) Warrenton Residency is seeking a Land Development Engineer to provide technical review of engineering plans and administration of land development projects, permit approvals, and subdivision inspection and acceptance for the counties of Fauquier, Culpeper and Rappahannock. The selected candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of VDOT specifications, standards, policies, and procedures.
This position works closely with local government officials, developers, consultants, and VDOT staff to assess the soundness of designs and the impacts of land development applications on the state-maintained road network.

**Minimum Qualifications**
* Experience applying roadway geometric design and other engineering principles
* Ability to read, analyze and interpret construction plans, local ordinances and zoning requirements
* Experience applying subdivision street requirements, entrance standards and road design standards
* Knowledge of applying land use permit policies, construction practices, materials requirements, and street acceptance procedures
* Detailed oriented with the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences
* Skill in the use of computers and software applications
* A valid Driver’s License is required.
**Additional Considerations**
* BS Degree in civil engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience in the application of transportation projects which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the job
* EIT or PE License, DCR certification as Plan Reviewer or ability to obtain is a plus
