Customer – Our customer is Transitioning from a legacy stack (Cognos and SSIS) to a modern stack using Power BI and Snowflake. Cognos and SSIS experience are preferred. The modernization journey is critical and offers significant learning opportunities for the candidate. It is required for them to have Snowflake and Reporting expertise

Job Title Fulltime Data Engineer

Location Raleigh, North Carolina, United States – Open to remote (East Coast)

Type Fulltime Permanent

Visa Open to H1B Transfer candidates.

Reporting Structure: The engineer will work in a small, high-visibility BI product team responsible for sourcing, formatting, and ensuring the quality of data before providing insights to stakeholders across the company. 4 onshore, 3 offshore team members.

Key Projects:

* Modernization – Migrating from a legacy stack to a current technology stack.
* Cloud Migration – Strategic modernization effort focused on moving systems to the cloud.

Core Focus Areas:

* Snowflake is critical as we aim to become a Center of Excellence for data sourcing and management within the company.
* SQL is a key requirement.
* ETL (Any tool) – Strong preference for SSIS and ADF, but the ability to understand and quickly learn new ETL tools is highly valued.

Required:

* Data Engineering experience
* Snowflake (data warehousing) still required at 3-5 YOE.
* ETL Experience (3-5 YOE)
* Must have strong Reporting expertise, either PBI (preferred) or Cognos
* 80% of role is Hands-on, so candidate must have recent hands on experience

Preferred:

* SQL Server
* SSIS experience (*SSIS being the current state moving to potentially a custom tool in 3+ years)
Modeling skills (DVM, Kimball, etc)

* Bonus: Insurance background
