We are looking for a **Housing & Community Support Services Advisor** for the **Behavioral Health & Managed Care** (BHMC) **Section** of the **Behavioral Health Initiatives & Coverage Office** (BHIC)!
The **BHMC Section** of **BHIC** implements and monitors contracts requirements, operations, and performance improvement, including administering change at the federal and state levels, for Dual Special Need Plans (DSNPs), the capitated physical health initiatives, and the Capitated Behavioral Health Program administered by the Regional Accountable Entities (RAEs). This section interprets and operationalizes state and federal managed care and parity regulations. The BHMC Section collaborates most closely with sections within the BHIC Office, the Finance Office’s Payment Reform and Rates teams, and the Cost Control and Quality Improvement Office (CCQI), especially the Accountable Care Collaborative team, to develop and implement outcome metrics and process improvement monitoring for the Medicaid managed care contracts. BHMC oversees alignment and reporting requirements as outlined in State and Federal Rules, Regulations and Legislation as well as CMS waiver authorities governing BH services and oversight of the corresponding policies and communication avenues necessary to support alignment and reporting requirements. ***This position can work fully remotely from anywhere in the State of Colorado.******Please note – equipment provisioning and certain onboarding tasks will take place in person, in our downtown Denver office, on the first day of employment.***

**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS HOUSING & COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES ADVISOR:*** Staff authority for community support services which includes supportive housing, peer support, and other recovery supports.
* Provide direct oversight to HCPF initiatives around housing and homelessness services as well as related workforce development activities developing and aligning policies for community support professionals that may deliver support services in community settings and ensures that these initiatives are aligned with overall HCPF policy and programmatic goals.
* Guide colleagues in the Delivery System and Payment Innovation (DSPI) Section to ensure alignment with the ACC as well as colleagues at other state agencies including the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA), CO Dept of Human Services (CDHS) and Behavioral Health Administration (BHA).
* Identify and apply opportunities to reduce health disparities and improve equitable outcomes for all populations.
* Guide and contribute to the development of supportive housing and peer support benefit policies.
* Lead development of community support services communications content.
* Represent HCPF in provider appeals related to supported housing services.
* Provide technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders regarding HCPF’s role in supportive housing services and in community support services, including supportive housing, peer support and other recovery support services.
* Ensure coordination and collaboration with managed care entities, housing providers, state agencies, and other statewide systems.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**
There are two ways to qualify for this position: **Option 1:****Experience Only:** **Seven** (7) total years of professional experience in Health Related Social Needs such as housing, case management, behavioral health, or an occupational field closely related. **Option 2:****Education and Experience:** **Bachelor’s** degree from an accredited institution in social work, psychology, or a field of study related to the work assignment
AND **Three** (3) years of professional experience in Health Related Social Needs such as housing, case management, behavioral health, or an occupational field closely related. *Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Relevant education will be calculated as the following:** An associates will count as two years of experience
* A bachelors will count as four years of experience
* A masters degree will count for six years of experience
* A doctorate or juris doctorate degree will count for seven years of experience
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*** Previous relevant professional state experience
* Master’s degree in Social Work or Psychology
* Professional experience working with community based organizations delivering health related services
**Skills to Support Success*** Excellent communicator
* Highly organized
* Able to work well independently
**DEFINITION OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:** Work that involves exercising discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, and sharing an organized body of knowledge that characteristically is uniquely acquired through an intense education or training regimen at a recognized college or university; equivalent to the curriculum requirements for a bachelor’s or higher degree with major study in or pertinent to the specialized field; and continuously studied to explore, extend, and use additional discoveries, interpretations, and application and to improve data, materials, equipment, applications and methods.
