Job Description

Rtec Instruments manufactures advanced scientific instruments. We are seeking to fill a **installation and support engineer** position to join our production/application team out of San Jose office.

This is a fun and interesting position where you get to work on new creative projects , meet several new people across many applications. It would be your responsibility to travel to customer location to install and/or support the instruments. You need to be have an attitude to learn new fields at rapid pace. This can be a big career break for young graduates.

Job Responsibilities:

* Install the instruments at customer location
* Support customers remotely or in field on support related issues on testers.
* Big Plus
* **Previously worked as installation and support engineer for a scientific instrumentation company (please mention on resume what kind).**
* Previously installed/used a tribometer, profilometer etc. is a big plus
* This is not a software job.

Job Requirements

* Applicant must be proficient in English
* Mechanical or electrical engineering back ground
* Be very comfortable to talk on phone for support related calls.
* Good attitude as you would interface customers often
* Self-Motivated/Team Player

Education:

* Bachelors or better.
* If Bachelor’s – then 2 years experience in related job
* Masters

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
