**Position Summary**
The International Programs Manager is responsible for the development and management of education abroad programs including advising students, supporting faculty in program development, and planning and implementing promotional and outreach activities on campus and in the community. The manager serves as an integral member of the Office of International Education and Engagement (IEE) and supports all efforts related to international education at UWL. This position reports to the Director of International Education.

**Required Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly with presentation creation and delivery.
* Strong intercultural and interpersonal communication skills.
* Evidence of strong organizational, administrative, and computer skills.
* Experience working, living, or studying abroad.
* Knowledge and understanding of education abroad best practices.

**Preferred Qualifications**
* Master’s degree
* Experience working in an international education office (preferably education abroad)
* Experiences with study abroad and student management software.
* Familiarity with third-party study abroad provider programs
* Demonstrate flexibility, a positive attitude, and the ability to adapt to unique situations with resourcefulness and persistence
* Proven organizational and record-keeping skills; problem-solving ability; ability to maintain confidentiality; and exceptional ability to work under pressure in stressful conditions
* Ability to respectfully work, communicate and provide leadership within a diverse campus community.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team to reach campus international education goals.

**Description of College / Department / Program / Division / Unit**
The Division of Academic Affairs encompasses a wide array of activities and functions that ensure the overall academic quality of the institution. This includes providing administrative oversight and academic leadership for: the College of Business Administration; the College of Arts, Social Sciences & Humanities; the College of Science and Health; the School of Education; Murphy Library; Records and Registration; Financial Aid; Career Services; Academic Advising; Graduate and Extended Learning; the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs; the office of Undergraduate Research and Creativity; the Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning; Institutional Research; and International Education & Engagement. Academic Affairs also provides leadership and support to the nearly four hundred full-time faculty and instructional academic staff, 73 percent of whom hold terminal degrees. Through its various functions, the Division of Academic Affairs supports students in the pursuit of excellence in undergraduate and graduate education as well as scholarly activity.

**Responsibility Statement** Program Development

**Duties to Support Responsibility**
* Developing, launching, and managing international faculty-led programs in collaboration with faculty, staff, third-party providers, and other offices/departments.
* Supporting faculty in program development, budgeting, promoting, facilitating administrative review and approval, conducting pre-departure orientation, allocating scholarships, and assessing programs upon their return.
* Partner with financial specialist on program accounts, including invoicing, payables, and collections; check in with partners monthly on pending/approved marketing programs
* Work closely with providers/partners who are seeking programming, logistics, and communication support with universities and faculty for programs in their region

**Responsibility Statement** Education Abroad Advising

**Duties to Support Responsibility**
* Advise students on opportunities, requirements, and application procedures concerning all UW- La Crosse sponsored education abroad, exchange, faculty-led, and third-party provider programs
* Advise students on cultural adjustment, health, safety, and other post-acceptance procedures such as passport, visas, and other entry-requirements
* Advise students on UW – La Crosse education abroad policies and procedures
* Promote and develop opportunities for students participating in international and intercultural/ cross-cultural experiences
* Maintain international resource center, including the collection and organization of education abroad alumni experiences, program and travel resources, program literature

**Responsibility Statement** Programming

**Duties to Support Responsibility**
* Serve as curriculum integration liaison for UWL academic departments.
* Coordinate recruitment events such as Education Abroad Fairs, UWL class presentations, UWL Admissions events, and new student registration.
* Prepare program information, including promotional flyers, web pages and orientation materials in collaboration with other IEE staff.
* Coordinate and facilitate education abroad pre-departure and re-entry programming.
* Develop and support initiatives that enhance the UWL’s goal of campus internationalization.
* Participate in the selection and training of IEE student staff.

* Participate in the maintenance of the study abroad website and applicant information via study abroad software programs.
* Collaborate with international partners to coordinate program details; including, but not limited to: dates, fees, housing, application/registration of participants and transcripts.
* Provide support for education abroad activities including by not limited to: planning, developing, promoting, and evaluating students’ international experiences; assisting with the development of program budgets and student fees; assisting with flight arrangement; preparing financial aid budgets and other arrangements as necessary.
* Assist Director and teammates with new program development
