Role: Linux Administrator

Location: New York, New Jersey (Onsite from day 1)

Type: Full-time and Contract.

Salary Range: $55 to $60 per hour

Visa Requirements: H1B, H4 EAD, US Citizen, Green Card (GC), and GC EAD

Note: This position does not provide reimbursement for relocation expenses. Candidates will need to cover relocation costs at their own expense.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years required.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting Linux-based systems to ensure their reliability and performance. You will work closely with other IT professionals to implement best practices and optimize the infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

* Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software.
* Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
* Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
* Implement and manage automated scripts for system administration tasks.
* Collaborate with other IT teams to plan and execute system upgrades and migrations.
* Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations and procedures.
* Respond to and resolve system incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
* Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).
* Experience with system monitoring tools and performance tuning.
* Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
* Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
* Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
* Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred:

* Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
* Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
* Knowledge of security best practices and system hardening.
