**Job Duties**

VDOT’s Culpeper District is seeking non-CDL operators to be on-call during inclement weather within **Culpeper, Orange, Louisa, Fluvanna, Albemarle, Greene, Madison, Fauquier and Rappahannock counties.**

Incumbents will operate equipment such as front-end loader, backhoe, tractor, and motor grader, to clear snow and ice. Perform manual labor as needed.

This position will also be *on-call* for other types of weather emergencies. Performance of these duties will require work outside of normal business hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. VDOT will determine when essential positions are required to report.

Positions are seasonal/temporary with no state benefits.

**Minimum Qualifications**

* Valid Driver’s license.
* Experience performing physically demanding manual labor.
* Experience operating equipment.
* Ability to work 12-hour shifts, day or night.

**Additional Considerations**

* Experience performing snow removal with equipment.
* Advanced level experience operating equipment such as front-end loader, backhoe, tractor, motor grader, skid steer loader, etc.

Due to the emergency nature of these positions, screening of applications will commence September 10, and then occur weekly until filled.

Fingerprint-based background checks, references, work history, and DMV records will be verified before employment. Selected applicants will be required to complete a pre employment physical. Requires approved safety shoes, which is a reimbursable expense after employment. Personal protective equipment is provided. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. H1B VISA Sponsorship is not available.VDOT utilizes a market-based pay program, which has been approved by DHRM. Therefore, advertised rates of pay may or may not align with the Commonwealth pay bands.
