This position will provide a wide range of administrative support to the Small Business and Innovation Office. The position plays a crucial role in maintaining office efficiency. This position will interact with internal and external partners. The position is responsible for various tasks that are performed on behalf of the Office of Small Business and Innovation which include fiscal responsibilities, office support, communication, administrative procedures, and planning. The position will need to demonstrate technical proficiency to effectively meet the current and future needs of the office.
This position teleworks up to four (4) days per week with weekly requirements to be on-site at the office location in St. Paul or attend other meetings and events in-person off-site. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment and may telework from anywhere in Minnesota or a neighboring state. Please note, the telework policy could change with notice based on business needs.

### **Minimum Qualifications**
**To receive credit for your education and experience, your resume should clearly describe how you meet each minimum and/or preferred qualification listed, including dates of employment.**
Skill in;
* Customer service sufficient to respond effectively to clients, coworkers, and customers who have questions about agency operations and procedures in person, in writing, on the phone, and through presentations and other electronic correspondence.
* Database management sufficient to develop and maintain databases and calendars for staff.
* Accounting sufficient to reconcile differences between invoices, receipts, and purchase orders, and assess needs based on data and events affecting the account.
Ability to;
* Create presentations, tables, charts, and/or graphs from word processing software.
* Perform administrative support work for a work unit’s expense and budget administration.
Skill in word processing sufficient to;
* Prepare, edit, and finalize emails, memos, reports, and/or other documents and types of written communication that are grammatically correct, in proper format, and free of spelling errors.
* Use software, such as Microsoft Word, to type and format letters, memos, reports, and minutes of meetings, etc.
### **Preferred Qualifications**
One (1) year of office administrative support experience working as an administrative assistant or completing administrative support work.
Knowledge of;
* Customer service practices and principles sufficient to identify each customer’s needs, meet quality standards for services, that result in customer satisfaction.
* Basic accounting procedures sufficient to prepare itemized statements, bills or invoices, and record amounts due for items purchased or services rendered.
Ability to;
* Organize, prioritize work, and be self-directed in a fast-paced working environment.
* Make photocopies of advanced correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and miscellaneous documents.
