### **Qualifications**

– Graduate of an **accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (required)**
– **Active Massachusetts PTA license** in good standing
– Experience using **Net Health** software preferred
– Strong organizational and communication skills

### **Position Overview**

The **Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)** delivers skilled therapy services under the supervision of a licensed **Physical Therapist (PT)**. The role focuses on assisting residents in improving mobility, strength, balance, and overall physical function while maintaining a supportive and professional care environment.

### **Key Responsibilities**

#### **Resident Care**

– Carry out prescribed physical therapy treatments to help reduce pain, restore mobility, and improve functional ability.
– Provide therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a licensed **Physical Therapist (PT)**.
– Assist with implementing and adjusting treatment plans according to PT guidance.
– Track and document resident progress including strength, mobility, and functional performance.
– Monitor patient responses to therapy sessions and report updates to the supervising therapist.
– Work collaboratively with the **interdisciplinary care team (IDT)** to support positive resident outcomes.
– Offer education and guidance to residents, families, and caregivers regarding therapy goals and exercises.
– Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory guidelines.

#### **Training & Education**

– Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning conferences.
– Assist in training and supporting **Restorative Nursing staff and caregivers**.
– Provide educational support for residents and families regarding therapy programs and exercises.
– Support clinical education opportunities for **PTA students** when applicable.
– Maintain compliance with required training, certifications, and continuing education standards.
