The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Plant Engineering Development Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

* Facilitate craft training programs. Plan & Schedule PE training initiatives as necessary.
* Partner with PE Leadership, subject matter experts, & vendors to analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate Plant Engineering technical and regulatory training requirements for the Plant Engineering employees.
* Facilitate all new employee orientation training for PE.
* Analyze, coordinate and maintain all technical and non-craft PE training.
* Coordinate craft training for new equipment, Upgrades/modifications to equipment.
* Work with technical colleges to develop and schedule craft training development.
* Facilitate PE Safety Team – PE Employees, reps from EHS, and Resident Engineering. Follow up on action items, housekeeping and incident reports.
* Facilitator/Trainer of PE crew meetings.
* Develop and present regulatory training for PE and Resident Engineering crew meetings.
* 5S Coordinator for PE.
* Partner with EHS on required safety procedures for PE tasks and other regulatory requirements.
* Member of Site Safety Teams.
* Lead or Co-lead the energy team.
* Provide training for numerous OSHA & EPA requirements such as, (but not limited to): fall protection, rigging, LOTO, line breaking, shock and arc flash hazards, emergency procedures, hearing conservation, EMS, SPCC, stormwater, PSM, respirator, asbestos, hazardous waste, Hazcom.

Your Skills And Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

* Possess a two-year degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in Mechatronics
* Interested and available to work a flexible schedule with overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed although this is primarily a first shift position (7am-3pm).

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

* Technical knowledge and practical application skills as it applies to the PE craft jobs, an understanding of Plant Engineering functions
* Comfortable to present information to large & small groups
* Knowledge of learning theories and principles of adult education and the ability to apply.
* Possess good customer relations and effective communication skills and be a team player.
* Qualified applicants may be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.
