Project Engineer II

Summary 

Mortenson’s Advanced Manufacturing Group is currently seeking a Project Engineer II that will provide analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues with project team members and participants.

Responsibilities

* Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons
* Implement the pre-construction quality plan
* Obtain and maintain all necessary construction permits
* Work with Project Manager for fee payments or recurring permit expenses
* Develop and maintain: Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report
* Create, oversee, and distribute contract documents
* Establish handling procedures for electronic documents, including Request for Information (RFI) and correspondence
* Incorporate all processes and procedures that support the project closeout phase
* Lead all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program
* Handle submittals
* Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders
* Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
* Minimum three years of related experience
* Current driver’s license
* Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively run multiple project tasks
* Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
* Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
* Microsoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
* Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
* Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
* Ability to travel overnight up to 100%

Education

* Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience

The base pay range for this role is $91,100 – $123,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
