**📌 Job Overview:**

We are looking for a highly skilled 
**Reliability Engineer**
 to join our client’s hardware engineering team in Austin, TX. This position is focused on testing, analyzing, and validating new technologies and components across consumer electronic products. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in 
**mechanical stress testing, failure analysis**
, and the development of 
**new test methodologies**
 to ensure product durability and lifecycle performance.

**🎯 Key Responsibilities:**

* Plan and execute 
**reliability tests**
 such as 
**mechanical stress**

**shock**

**drop**
, and 
**vibration testing**
 in line with 
**industry standards**
 (JEDEC, ASTM, IEEE).
* Analyze 
**failure modes**
, identify root causes using tools like 
**X-ray, SEM/EDS, FTIR, XPS**
, and propose corrective actions.
* Use 
**DOE**
 (Design of Experiments) and 
**FMEA**
 (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) techniques to validate and improve product designs.
* Write and present 
**detailed test reports**
, risk assessments, and engineering summaries.
* Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to influence 
**design improvements for reliability**
.
* Develop new 
**test procedures**
, specifications, and testing infrastructure as needed.
* Support product validation cycles, reliability reviews, and maintain compliance with quality standards.
* Minimal travel (less than 5%) for equipment walkthroughs or external lab collaboration.

**✅ Qualifications:**

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in 
**Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering**
 or a related field.
* **3+ years of experience**
 in reliability engineering or product validation, preferably in 
**consumer electronics**
 or 
**hardware**
.
* Hands-on experience in 
**environmental, mechanical, or lifecycle reliability testing**
.
* Proficiency with 
**failure analysis tools**
 (Optical Microscopy, SEM/EDS, FTIR, etc.)
* Strong understanding of 
**mechanical assemblies**
 and 
**materials behavior**
 under stress.
* Familiarity with 
**PLM systems**
 and 
**data-driven test methodologies**
.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to present to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
