The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Research Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:* *Leads prototype development efforts for electronics cooling with direction provided*
* *Implements experimental measurements to determine the performance of prototypes in cooling*
* *Determines methods to improve design and materials for best performance*
* *Supports the team with detailed project plans and data analysis*

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
* One (1) year experience in designing prototypes in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:* Experience in projects related to thermal management
* College level courses in thermal management and fluid flow modelling
* Software application skills
* Demonstrated technical skills
* Demonstrated oral and verbal communication skills
* Experience working in a team environment
* Complex problem-solving skills

Work location: On site, Maplewood, Minnesota
Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $79,828 – $97,567, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
