Job Title: Ruby on Rails – Full Stack Developer

Location: Austin, TX, or Chicago, IL (Remote considered for strong candidates in CST time zone)

Duration: 12+ months (High probability of extension and conversion to full-time after 6 months)

Job Description: Join the payment solutions team focusing on enhancing the merchant and customer experience. This role plays a critical part in developing innovative features that drive companies value-added services (VAS), allowing merchants to self-serve efficiently. You will be contributing to the ongoing transformation of companies infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, develop, and deploy high-quality Ruby on Rails applications.
* Backend-Focused (60%) / Frontend-Focused (40%): Build and optimize scalable backend services while also ensuring seamless frontend integrations.
* Review Pull Requests (PRs) for accuracy, stability, and adherence to best practices.
* Engage in pairing sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives with team members.
* Contribute to technical discussions and system architecture planning to align with functional and non-functional business requirements.
* Maintain and enhance existing applications, ensuring stability, performance, and security.
* Participate in daily stand-ups, addressing blockers and reviewing tickets for development priorities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree.
* Strong expertise in developing and maintaining RoR applications.
* Proficiency in TypeScript and React.js (or similar frameworks like Angular).
* Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
* Advanced experience with distributed system development.
* Strong understanding of microservices and API architecture.
* Experience with high-traffic payment processing systems.
* Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
