**Overview:**
We are hiring an SAP Applications Developer/Analyst to help lead the development and support of enterprise applications at ORNL! Your particular focus will be on Materials Management (MM) and Sales and Distribution (SD), and Warehouse Management (WM) modules, for our current upgrade to S/4 HANA. This position resides in the Financial Management Applications group in the Enterprise Applications & Business Intelligence section of the Application Development division in the Information Technology Services Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).

**Major Duties/Responsibilities:**
This position will provide support for ORNL’s Materials Management and Sales and Distribution of Isotopes as well as other areas which cover a wide range of business functions such as: general accounting, financial reporting, program/project cost accounting, procurement and contracting, property management, travel management, supply chain, and payroll. A technical upgrade is underway to S/4HANA. Software developed in both SAP technologies as well as non-SAP web technologies.
Primary duties for this position may include:
* Development, support, and modification of software involving SAP’s ABAP technologies including SAP GUI (Classic ABAP and ABAP Objects), Business Server Pages, and ABAP WebDynpro.
* Development and support of migration activities to new SAP S/4HANA platform.
* Development and support of new activities to implement new module and/or new cloud solutions.
* Analysis of software requirements and assistance in application design.
* Analysis of software code and data to answer questions about system operations.
* Implementation of unit testing and automated testing for programs and applications.
* Collaboration with developers in other areas such as Finance (include Payroll), Business Intelligence, et cetera.
* Adherence to ORNL software quality assurance standards and ITIL best practices.
* Support of ORNL project management requirements

**Basic Qualifications:**
* A BS in computer science, information systems, business, science or a related technical field of study and eight (8) to twelve (12) years of aligned experience is required for consideration. An overall combination of equivalent experience may be considered.
* SAP ABAP and experience with MM, SD, and WM modules.
* Passion to review and write code.
* Proven track record of development successes.
* Willingness/desire to learn emerging programming technologies.
* Highly motivated, self-starter who is comfortable working as part of a team (in any capacity) or as an independent contributor.
* Strong customer focus and excellent written and verbal communications skills.
* ERP software development experience.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Knowledge and experience with SAP SuccessFactors and related integrations.
* Traditional and object-oriented programming.
* Model View Controller concept.
* SAP ABAP (classic and object-oriented), SAP Business Server Pages (BSPs), SAP WebDynpro, and SAP WebRFC technologies.
* SAP Business Technology Platform experience.
* Limited knowledge of Linux/Unix development – e.g., writing basic scripts, etc.
* SAP HANA development technologies (CDS views, HANA security).
* Web services creation and consumption (SOAP and REST).
* Traditional web development (e.g., HTML5, CSS, XML, and JavaScript).
* Code analysis, performance, security and debugging.
* Code unit testing.
* Business workflow.
* Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
