Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic Senior Hardware Design Engineering Professional to join our Product Development team, and work on cutting edge 5G Fronthaul and Backhaul Ethernet transport products. This position requires a person who can demonstrate expertise in, high speed digital design, can operate under minimal supervision, is a self-motivated fast learner, and is highly competent in developing innovative hardware solutions for the evolving 5G markets.

What you’ll do

* Participate in hardware development full life cycle, including high level design, schematic capture, layout support, prototype bring-up, system integration and test.
* Ensure that hardware meets all the specification requirements.
* Participate in design reviews.

What we’re looking for

* In-depth experience with dense high speed digital design principles, system bring up and testing.
* Deep understanding of buses, interfaces, high-speed serial lines, clock distribution and power controllers such as PCIe, I2C, QSPI, MACs, PHYs, SFPs, DDRs, power management and various CPUs.
* In-depth understanding of state-of-the-art networking and multi-Gbit switching components.
* Track record of taking successful and reliable designs from concept to production.
* In-depth experience with schematic capture tools, signal integrity and board layout tradeoffs.
* Understanding of FPGA development tools, Verilog/VHDL and timing analysis.
* Strong troubleshooting skills and familiar with testing instruments.
* Ability to set up complex lab environment to isolate problems as they occur during development.
* Proven ability to integrate, validate and support new designs into complex Linux based systems.

Must Have

The successful candidate must have:

* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Graduate degree a plus.
* 7+ years of experience as a Hardware Design Engineer.

What would be useful

* It would be useful and advantageous for the candidate to have experience in or knowledge of:
* Facility with Linux and Device Drivers
* L2 and L3 Networking Protocols.
* Network Forwarding Switching and Queueing Algorithms.
* FPGA architecture, design and implementations.
* Familiarity with industry standard routers and switches.

This person On-Site 5 days a week in the Lab in North Los Angeles- Potential Hybrid in future.
