**Job Title:** Senior Java Software Engineer
**Location:** Jersey City, NJ (100% Onsite)
**Duration:** 6 Months (Possible Extension) – W2

**Job Overview:**

We are looking for an experienced **Senior Java Software Engineer** to join a high-impact project. The role is based in **Jersey City, NJ** and requires **100% onsite** availability.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in **Java**, **Kafka**, **Spark**, **Structured Streaming**, and **AWS**, with proven experience in building scalable, real-time data processing systems.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Kafka, Spark, and Structured Streaming.
* Develop Java applications for data ingestion, transformation, and real-time analytics.
* Integrate processing workflows with AWS services such as MSK, S3, Lambda, and EMR.
* Optimize pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
* Monitor and troubleshoot Spark and Kafka performance issues.
* Ensure compliance with data security and governance standards.
* Document architecture, workflows, and best practices.

**Required Skills & Qualifications:**

* 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development.
* Strong expertise in **Apache Kafka**, **Apache Spark**, **Structured Streaming**, and **Spark SQL**.
* Solid experience with **AWS** (S3, Lambda, MSK, EMR).
* Background in real-time data processing and large-scale distributed systems.
* Experience developing and debugging complex enterprise-grade applications.
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

**Preferred Skills:**

* Familiarity with **Python** or **Shell scripting**.
* Experience in a **Linux** environment.
* Prior experience building Internet-scale distributed systems.
* Exposure to data enrichment, transformation, and streaming optimization.
