Job Description
🚀 We’re Hiring: Sr. Kafka Engineer (Consultant)
Wenty LLC is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Kafka Engineer to join a leading financial client in Irvine, CA. This hybrid role will focus on delivering API–Platform Engineering solutions, driving automation, and ensuring reliable, scalable distributed systems.
📍 Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
⏳ Duration: 12-month contract (extendable)
🛂 Work Authorization: Open to H1B, U.S. Permanent Residents, and U.S./Canada Citizens (preferred)
📝 Interview Requirement: Final round of interview must be attended in person
🔑 Key Responsibilities
Deliver API–Platform Engineering by leading solution initiatives.
Recommend and re-engineer solutions for complex incidents/issues.
Perform advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and bug fixes.
Identify toil and develop automation solutions.
Provide solutions through self-service platforms based on business requirements.
Participate in piloting and evaluating new products.
🛠 Required Skills
Strong expertise with Confluent Kafka and AWS Cloud for high-scale distributed systems.
Hands-on experience enabling Observability (Distributed tracing, Event logging, APM, Synthetic monitoring).
Solid understanding of SRE practices.
Strong background in automation and building self-service platforms.
Experience with web services and messaging protocols.
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and container platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes).
Prior experience with public cloud providers (AWS).
Strong communication, high energy, and customer engagement skills.
🎯 Nice to Have
Familiarity with SDLC, SAFe, and Agile methodology.
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git).
