Job Description
NanoTech Pharma Inc. is an exciting biotech company using proprietary technologies for the development of complex injectable pharmaceutical products to target a variety of therapeutic areas based on different types of drug modalities.
We are actively seeking an innovative and motivated scientist experienced in working with animals, and with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, to help us to advance our therapeutic candidates to the clinic.
**Responsibilities:**
· Design and perform efficacy (e.g., determine maximum tolerated dose) and safety/toxicology studies to evaluate the in vivo performance of the company’s drug product (e.g., small molecules and RNA therapies) in rodents (mice and rats).
· Design and execute pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) related studies to understand the interaction between the drug and the body.
· Develop and optimize assays to assess therapeutic benefits, such as ELISA, Western blot, PCR immunofluorescence imaging.
· Work with external collaborators and CROs to advance projects.
· Maintain an accurate and well-documented laboratory notebook. Maintain laboratory equipment and train others in use.
· Track progress against project timelines, generate regular status updates, and communicate progress and issues to management.
**Requirements / Qualifications:**
· Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Physiology, Molecular/Cell Biology, or a related life science discipline. Candidates who have experience working on small molecule drug discovery or RNA therapy programs in Biotech/Pharma industry will be given preference.
· Extensive experience working with rodents (mice and rats) is necessary, and experience working with non-human primate (NHP) is a plus.
· Experience with different types of dosing routes (e.g., IV, IP, SubQ, IT, etc.). Hands on experience in organ/tissue dissection, extraction, processing and downstream RNA and protein analysis is desired.
· Experience with in vivo PK/PD/toxicology evaluation of injectable nanomedicine (e.g., liposome or LNPs) is a plus.
· Strong problem-solving skills.
· Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills.
· A track record of productivity evidenced by publications and/or patents.
