**Position Summary:** Team member of the Purchasing group responsible for timely review of Bill of Material releases from Mechanical Engineering.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Support Purchasing Manager and assist with all Sourcing with the design and engineering of paralleling switchgear, diesel and turbine generator control systems for medium voltage and low voltage Mechanical power systems in strict compliance with company engineering processes, quality procedures and design standards
* Review mechanical drawings and specifications in order to determine project requirements and prepare quotations that are on time, on budget, on spec
* Review job order documents processed by the sales and engineering departments and organize to ensure accuracy for components
* Compare pricing on components or items having long lead times are outsourced with new vendors, ensuring production flow and customer schedules are met on time Prepare technical submittals to include layout drawings, sequence of operations, Bill of Materials, wiring schematics, test procedures to meet customer approvals
* Negotiate timeline, cost and manage the flow of goods coming in and out of the facility to meet projects on-time, on-budget and on-spec
* Assist in identifying risks and use appropriate methods to maintain a project’s critical path
* Coordinate a wide variety of functions within the company to provide liaison support during pre-delivery time including activities within order processing, customer relations and sales support
* Manage flow of supplies based on production needs and according to master schedule
* Work with Inventory department to maintain accurate information regarding pricing, inventory stock levels, releases, order status within automated ERP system
* Work with cross function teams to identify and define customer and project requirements that clearly layout customer expectations to all parties at SAI.
* Work with project management on scope of work and timelines for project completion.
* Generate detailed design and drawing documents and parts list for manufacturing
* Create Mechanical schematic and wiring drawings for power and control systems
* Verify equipment design to meet compliance to applicable U.L and NEMA standards
* Develop test procedures and verify that the finished products meet design and performance criteria
* Stay technically acquainted with production methods, cost estimating procedures, new development technologies, materials, Mechanical components, etc.
* Maintain close working relationships with customers, vendors and other departments within SAI
* Occasional weekend and/or evening work
* Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed
* Regular in-person attendance is an essential function of this job

**Education and/or Experience**

* BS in Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain Management from an accredited engineering school required.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
