SQL Database Developer
We seek a skilled SQL Database Developer to join a market data technology team at a top financial services firm in New York City. This team manages and enhances a homegrown market and pricing curve data caching system that delivers real-time data to critical business users.
Location: New York, NY ( Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months Contract
Billing Rate: $70-$75 per hour. on W-2
Note: This position is only available to candidates who do not require sponsorship. The candidate must work on a W-2 only; no C-2-C or third-party candidates are permitted. There is no employer involvement.
H1B Transfer to our W-2 is possible on a case-by-case basis. Local candidates are preferred.
As a key contributor, you will develop, optimize, and support SQL scripts and database processes to improve system performance, scalability, and reliability. You will also work closely with Java applications and caching technologies like Hazelcast to enhance real-time data delivery.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
✔️ SQL Development & Optimization: Write and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts to support application functionality.
✔️ Application Enhancement: Improve the performance and scalability of existing applications.
✔️ Automation & Job Scheduling: Manage scheduled tasks using SQL Job Scheduler to streamline data processes.
✔️ Database & Java Integration: Support and enhance Java applications interacting with the database.
✔️ Caching System Enhancement: Work with tools like Hazelcast (or similar) to optimize real-time data caching.
✔️ Production Support (Level 3): Diagnose, debug, and resolve technical issues to ensure system stability.
🔹 Required Qualifications:
🔹 5+ years of experience in SQL database development and performance tuning.
🔹 Hands-on experience with SQL Job Scheduler for task automation.
🔹 Exposure to Java applications interacting with SQL databases.
🔹 Familiarity with market data systems or pricing curve data (highly desirable).
🔹 Experience with Hazelcast or similar caching technologies.
🔹 Knowledge of Drools (nice to have).
🔹 Exposure to messaging systems like Kafka (a plus).
