**Title: Sr. Accountant – Insurance** **Controllership** **(SAP)**

**Contract Details:**

Location: Boston, MA or Springfield, MA (Remote with travel onsite for QE and YE close)

Duration: 12 + month contract

Start: ASAP

Rate: $75–85/ hr (W2 or C2C)

**About the Role**

We are seeking a Senior Accountant with strong insurance industry experience to join a leading professional services firm. This role will support the Corporate Subsidiaries Controllership team, focusing on financial close, reporting, and analysis activities. The position backfills a team member who has been reassigned to a major SAP transformation project.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on accounting and reporting expertise in insurance (life insurance experience preferred), along with solid knowledge of SAP (R/3, ECC, or S/4HANA).

**Key Responsibilities**

– Support corporate subsidiary controllership activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial close and reporting.

– Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and sub-consolidations for insurance entities.

– Perform intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

– Assist with compliance requirements for internal and external reporting.

– Provide accounting support for investments and other insurance-related controllership functions.

– Partner with project teams to ensure alignment with ongoing SAP system transition (R/3 S/4HANA).

– Contribute to process improvement, documentation, and best practices within the controllership function.

**Required Skills & Experience**

– 5+ years of experience in accounting, controllership, or finance roles.

– Insurance industry experience required ; life insurance experience preferred.

– Strong background in SAP financial modules ( SAP FICO or other finance/accounting modules ).

– Exposure to SAP R/3, ECC, and/or S/4HANA (transition experience is highly desirable).

– Solid understanding of financial reporting, intercompany reconciliations, and consolidation processes.

– Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

– Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across finance, technology, and project teams.
