**Position Summary:** The Senior Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist will consult with Leaf Home leaders to identify learning needs and provide solutions that drive the larger talent strategy. This experienced L&D professional will design courses using a variety of learning modalities and serve as an informal leader and mentor to others on the L&D team sharing best practices. This role will be viewed as the expert in needs analysis/intake, design, development, delivery, and evaluation of training or leadership development courses. A major job duty for this role is the full beginning-to-end management of programs, including several leadership development programs that exist on an ongoing basis year-round. The Sr. L&D Specialist will fully own all coordination of the programs and ad-hoc courses they manage. Additionally, the Sr. L&D Specialist will develop materials and provide recommendations to support other talent-related processes and materials that intersect with L&D (e.g., onboarding, performance evaluations, succession).
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
* Manage end-to-end activities for Leaf Home leadership development and talent programs.
* Assess learning needs, design, deliver, and evaluate company-wide leadership development and training courses. Demonstrate exemplary skill in presenting, facilitating discussions, and training on key leadership topics. Customizes the interaction and content to meet the needs of leaders at all levels and stages of their careers.
* Oversee all coordination, administrative needs, and evaluation for leadership development or training courses they lead.
* Manage the administration of their learning content within Leaf Home’s Learning Management System (LMS) and help learners get what they need from our system.
* Provide insights and recommendations for maximizing employee engagement and participation in learning programs.
* Informally leads, trains, and guides others on the L&D team regarding facilitation, program management, and professionalism.
* Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
**Experience and Minimum Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
* 5+ years of experience in designing content, facilitating instructor-led courses, and fully leading talent programs.
* Outstanding presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills; serves as a role model to others regarding how to present in a professional and engaging manner with audiences of varying leadership levels.
* Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to juggle several programs or projects at once.
* Ability to meet the demands of different stakeholders without “dropping the ball”.
* Ability to manage one’s time effectively and work with little to no supervision.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment and have a “roll up your sleeves” and “win every day” mentality.
* Hold oneself accountable and responsible while being self-driven in accomplishing goals. Can hold partners accountable for contributing to any projects that require cross-functional collaboration.
* Detail-oriented and can focus on the task at hand by finding the most efficient and effective pathway to completion.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels to communicate with internal and external stakeholders articulately.
* Ability to logically connect ideas, scrutinize and evaluate arguments, find inconsistencies and errors in work, solve complex problems, and engage in reflection.
* Ability to provide timely and empathetic service through all communication channels keeping peer and customer needs first.
* Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
* Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
**Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:**
* Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and best practices for learning and facilitating material.
* 2+ years of corporate learning and development experience.
* Training or facilitation certification is a plus.
**Travel Requirements:**
* Less than 10% domestic travel required.
**Overtime/Additional Hours Requirements:**
* Additional hours may be required (exempt positions).
**Physical Requirements:**
* Normal office environment.
* Performs indoor work in a climate-controlled environment.
* Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
