Our Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join their AdTech Backend team in Sunnyvale, CA. What You’ll Do

* Design & Development: Lead the design phase of large software engineering projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams to determine project strategy. Interpret strategy into sustainable architecture and solutions, identify short- and long-term solutions and timelines, and drive prototype development to ensure concept feasibility.
* Project Leadership: Lead project teams by providing direction regarding architecture and design, offering guidance on project issues or roadblocks, reviewing and approving proposed solutions, implementing new architectural patterns, and performing design and code reviews to ensure platform stability and scalability.
* Root Cause Analysis: Direct root cause analysis of business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information (e.g., issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause), interpreting results to determine further action, and preventing future occurrences of issues.
What You Bring

* Experience & Skills:
* 6+ years of experience in building and managing large-scale distributed, scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems.
* Hands-on experience in Java or another object-oriented language, Spring, and NoSQL.
* Experience with Apache Hadoop, MapReduce, Apache Spark, and messaging systems like Kafka.
* Exposure to data science and machine learning techniques.
* Strong communication and leadership skills.
* Exceptional analytical-reasoning and problem-solving skills.
* Experience in AdTech and/or Search is a plus.
* Experience working with Data Science teams to implement ML models in real-time serving is a plus.
* Leadership experience in solutions architecture and design.
Education: Experience over education is preferred.
