**Job Summary**

Ecological and Water Resources is seeking to hire a temporary Part-Time Student Worker Para Professional in St. Paul, anticipated to work 11/04/2024-10/31/2025. This position exists primarily to support the Water Monitoring and Surveys Unit to collect, manage and analyze hydrologic data to support science-based water resources management decision-making. This will include stream stage and flow data collection, water well level readings, climate data collection, data entry, equipment installation and maintenance, staff gage installation, and other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* To assist the DNR EWR’s stream, lake, ground water, and climate data collection programs so that sound data are available for water resources management planning and problem solving.
* To assist in compiling and organizing water monitoring data for input into the WISKI database system so that data are ready for review and evaluation by DNR and PCA monitoring staff.
* To perform other assigned tasks so that priority technical support services are delivered professionally.
This position has a flexible work arrangement and may be eligible to telework on a part-time basis which is subject to change. If approved, the employee would be required to complete a telework agreement. This position will require reporting to the primary work location on a regular basis for field work and meeting.

### **Minimum Qualifications**
To be eligible for appointment as a Student Worker you must be a student enrolled in an educational program or planning to enroll within three months. Students may be “off” for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as student workers, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. As a student you must be enrolled in a post secondary or graduate program. If a student is enrolled at a credit-granting institution he/she must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, a student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.
* Completion of 1 year of post-secondary education in Civil, Environmental or Agricultural Engineering; Forest Hydrology; Geography; Geology; Geophysics; Hydrogeology; Natural Resources and Environmental Studies; Soil Science; Water Resources Management; or equivalent; including at least two courses in, hydrology, hydraulics, or hydrogeology.
* Communication skills, sufficient to represent the position and Division in a professional, efficient, and clear manner.
* Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
* Ability to accurately record, transcribe, and transfer data electronically.
* Organizational skills sufficient to prioritize a diverse workload and adjust to changing priorities.
### **Preferred Qualifications**
* Experienced in conducting, entering, and analyzing surveys.
* Experienced in data management.
### **Additional Requirements**
This position requires an unrestricted Class D Driver’s license with a clear driving record.
