OLA is a professional, nonpartisan office in the legislative branch of Minnesota state government. With a staff of 65, the office audits state agencies; evaluates state-funded programs; and conducts special reviews and investigations related to alleged misuse of state resources, alleged noncompliance with state laws, or legislative requests.
**Job Summary**

This position exists to provide confidential support and assistance to the Office of the Legislative Auditor (OLA) and to assist in the production of reports issued by the Financial Audit Division, Program Evaluation Division, and Special Reviews Unit. In addition, this position maintains human resources data for OLA employees. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
* Assist OLA Administrative Support Specialists in the production of final reports and other tasks.
* Provide administrative support for the Legislative Audit Commission (LAC) and its subcommittees.
* Process data entry updates relating to employee records.
**Skills to be assessed during the interview process:**
* Proofreading and formatting skills (candidates selected for an interview will be required to take a timed test on the day of the interview).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A demonstrated ability to handle confidential and not-public information.
* A demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships with a diversity of individuals, including staff, elected officials, and the public.
* A demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

### **Minimum Qualifications**
To be considered, a candidate **must submit a cover letter** and must have:
* Two years of progressive and directly related work experience **OR**
successfully completed a two-year administrative support program at an educational institution ***plus***one year or more of directly related work experience.
* Expertise in word processing and presentation software (e.g., Microsoft Word and PowerPoint).
* Experience preparing, editing, and printing reports and other documents; formatting complex tables; and creating effective graphics.
* Demonstrated proficiency in proofreading skills, and mastery of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
* Experience with video conferencing and Microsoft Teams.
* Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to shifting priorities.
### **Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience entering employee data using HR data management systems, such as Peoplesoft.
* Knowledge of Minnesota state government and the legislative process.

### **Additional Requirements**
