Trading Data Engineer

Job Description

The Role: A leading algorithmic proprietary trading firm is seeking an experienced Trading Data Engineer for its New York City or Singapore office. This role requires strong programming skills and a quantitative background to manage and analyze large data sets, supporting the development of quantitative trading strategies. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining high-performance market data infrastructure, making it ideal for those who enjoy both engineering and data analysis.

Responsibilities:

* Design and implement technical solutions for efficient data collection, aggregation, and validation.
* Collaborate directly with Portfolio Management and Strategy teams on data-driven projects.
* Ensure the integrity and accuracy of trading data infrastructure.
* Manage and expand connections to data vendors and sources.
* Maintain and improve the firm’s data warehouse and infrastructure.
* Develop pipelines to process large data sets, both on-premises and cloud-based.
* Work cross-functionally with teams on various initiatives.

Requirements:

* Undergraduate/Advanced degree in Computer Science from a top-ranked university.
* Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
* Experience with high-frequency trading data (market data, intraday data etc.) and knowledge of shell script, Linux OS, and databases (e.g., MongoDB).
* Familiarity with WebSocket and Python network packages (e.g., Pandas).
* Prior experience at a proprietary trading firm or technology company.
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
* A proactive approach to continuous learning and process improvement.
