**Job Title: US DOD R&D Project Manager**
**Location: Cadillac, MI/Remote**
**Business Unit: Avon Protection**
Purpose of Position:
Project Management role:
Skilled Technical Project Manager to support the DoD team. The Technical Project Manager will lead multiple new technology product initiatives, drive program schedules, manage project financials, and ensure all contract requirements are delivered on time. Project Manager will be highly skilled in program management, securing new contracts, expanding revenue and product life span while enhancing end user capability.
Project Manager will be detail oriented, possess the management skills to hold people accountable to quality expectations and timelines, and respond quickly to evolving customer needs. Project Manager must demonstrate competency in leadership, strategic thinking, relationship management, multitasking, schedule management, and delivery excellence.
Project Manager will support new business capture activities to enhance future revenue growth aligned to team strategy. Contribute to agreed external bid proposals, including win themes, framework strategy, technical writing, and team reviews. Project Manager will have the ability to work across organizational boundaries and within cross functional/cross Divisional teams.
Essential duties and/or Functions:
Management and lead of assigned programs with duties including:
* Provide Program Management and delivery leadership of strategic DoD projects

* Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables in accordance with the governments statement of work

* Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, and develop contingency plans as needed

* Oversee all Program Management aspects of schedule, resourcing, risk, change management, tracking financials, reporting, and quality control

* Work with both the US and UK teams to ensure transparency and communication is maintained

* Maintain a high standard of communication with members of other teams, functional managers, customers, and suppliers to pursue and meet project objectives

* Develop and maintain strong relationships with team members and key stakeholders

* Support the development of funding justification/business cases to secure capital funding

* Work within the Avon GAINS stage gate NPI framework to ensure milestone adherence and effective program governance

* Provide Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting of Risk, Issues, Schedule, Resource, Cost and Quality

* Maintain effective management of internal and external stakeholders

* Support and contribute to agreed external bid proposals, including win themes, framework strategy, technical writing, and team reviews

* Understand the commercial significance of projects and prioritize resource accordingly

* Facilitate and contribute to the overall business development strategy for DOD and future projects

* Ensure compliance with government policies, regulations, procedures including CUI

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Essential:
* Demonstrated US Government experience

* Program Management and the ability to understand customer requirements

* Knowledge of DoD contracting and current acquisition

* Proven track record in program management of NPI projects

* Quickly respond to customer queries and technical questions

* Demonstrated customer relationship building skills

* Strong interpersonal skills

* Strong written skills to be able to provide status, weekly reports, presentations, review packages, and assist with proposals

* Ability to work across organizational boundaries and work within cross functional/cross Divisional teams in a Matrix organization

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project

Qualifications:
* 10 years (minimum) program delivery experience within a manufacturing environment.

* Bachelor’s Degree or 10 plus years’ experience working with government contracting and acquisition

* Experience working with the DoD or U.S. Military

* A demonstrated capability to think strategically and execute tactically

* Proficiency in written and oral communication/presentation skills.

Preferred/Desired Skills or Experiences:
Desirable:
* Knowledge of CBRN Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

* Knowledge of Respiratory Protection Equipment

* DoD experience in CBRN Respiratory or related PPE

Engineering, Finance, DoD Team
External Relationships:
DoD Program Managers, Military Customers, and End Users
