Job Description
Title: COBOL Programmer
Work location: Columbus, OH
Salary: $85,000-$120,000, DOE
Term: Fulltime
**Job Responsibilities:**
* Maintain system current baseline functionality by using COBOL, MANTIS, JCL and Assembler mainframe languages.
* Collaborate with technical and functional analysts and end users to understand emerging business opportunities and troubleshoot incidents, resulting in effective IT application solutions.
* Participate with other teams in analyzing users’ needs based on requirements and design, develop, and test to meet requirement objective.
* Provide Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) support for assigned sustainment projects; developing, testing, and maintaining, software improvements.
* Compile comprehensive and accurate documentation and or reports as required for each change as a reference for future maintenance and testing.
* Work with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code during Peer Reviews to provide solutions for workarounds or resolutions.
* Resolve issues as a result of Test Discrepancy Reports (TDRs) written during System Integration Testing (SIT) and System Acceptance Testing (SAT).
**Requirements:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
* At least 15 years of experience in COBOL, MANTIS, JCL and Assembler mainframe languages
* Preference shall be given to those with past experience in a Federal Agency
* Experience with database optimization and solutions for large databases
* Experience with capacity planning, performance tuning and optimization of database environments
* Proficiency in advanced options for debugging and error checking SQL and PL/SQL
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
